James was born on August 13, 1950, to Jimmie D. Walker and Dorothy L. Walker in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
James was a man who lived simply and loved deeply. He graduated from Fair Park High School and went on to build a life rooted in hard work and quiet devotion. For 38 years, he welded with pride at Beaird Industries, shaping steel with steady hands and a strong work ethic. After decades of dedication, he retired from Reynold’s Industrial in Minden, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and reliability.
He was married to the love of his life, Karen, for 50 years, a bond built on loyalty, laughter, and the kind of love that doesn’t need to be spoken to be understood. Together, they shared a life full of everyday joys, simple pleasures, and the kind of companionship that stands the test of time.
He didn’t need attention to prove his strength. He was steady, dependable, and always there when it counted. He lived with purpose, worked hard, and cared deeply for the people around him. That kind of life leaves a mark that doesn’t fade. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie D. Walker; mother, Dorothy Walker; and brother, Danny Ray Walker. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Karen Reagan Walker; son, Chris Walker; daughter, Elizabeth Rhyne, and husband, Jeremy; sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Gary and Sharon Dufton; grandson, Zachary Shaw; granddaughters, Paige Rhyne, and Kirsten Rhyne.
Honoring James as pallbearers will be Luther Johnson, Doyal Johnson, Jeremy Rhyne, Benjamin Hyde, Maxwell Hyde, and Chris Dupont. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dutton and Mark McWhiney.
