Funeral services for James Alvin Savell, 73, will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday, May 20, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Bro. Shane Nugent of Cross Point Baptist Church in Bossier City. James was born to Alvin and Odell Savell on October 21, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. James was a resident of Stonewall, Louisiana and worked at Western Electric before retiring after 32 years of service. James graduated from Fair Park High School. He had to take a break from his job to go into the service where he was sent to Vietnam and served two years. He returned to Western Electric after he arrived back home. He married his first wife, Karen, his second wife, Dianne for 25 years, and his third wife, Sandra for 21 years. He had a love for God, life, fishing, hunting and the outdoors in general, and his dogs. He loved spending time with his family and friends. James is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sheri; daughter, Donna; and great-grandson, Ryker. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sandra Elaine Savell; children, James, Amie, Amber, Rebecca, Kaye, and Lorie; numerous grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren; siblings, Rhonda, Lisa and Kelly; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends. Honoring James as pallbearers will be Kelly Savell, Isaiah Murry, Brandon Savell, J.D. Upshaw, A.C. Esqueival, and Hunter Sullivan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Marc Greenwood and Roger Perry. The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or any animal shelter of your choice.
