Jacqueline D MAddox

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jacqueline Maddox, affectionately known as Gmaw to many, will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Living Word in Minden, Louisiana with visitation at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Trey Waller with Brother Kevin Johnson assisting. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Jacqueline was born June 11, 1941, in Fort Smith, Arkansas and entered her heavenly home November 2, 2023, in Minden, Louisiana.

Jackie was a graduate of Minden High School and worked with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s office until retirement in 2009 with the rank of Lieutenant. Jackie was instrumental in implementing the 911 emergency communication.

She enjoyed crocheting, and her greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren spending hours watching them play sports.

Jackie was a long-time member of Living Word Ministry loving the Father, Jesus, and people. Her smile, laughter, hugs, and of course her kisses were life. She seemed to have the gift to make everyone she met, including complete strangers, feel special. She was a hugger and if you were around her very long, you knew she expected to get a hug and plant kisses on her cheek each time she saw you. She loved her family. Having family around made her smile and she never missed an opportunity to say how proud she was. She spoke words of love and affirmation and didn’t find time to make negative remarks about anyone. She was a giver of the love of God. She was always appreciative and never complained. Generosity was part of her character. She was not a part of life, she was life, light, and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew J. and Dorothy “Tooley” Davis, husband Jimmy Maddox, and brother Richard Davis.

She is survived by her son, Andrew W. Maddox and wife Jemmie and Thomas E. Maddox and wife Janie, and her daughter, Stacey Johnson and husband Kevin, 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Jr., Drew Maddox, Jacob Maddox, Kyle Johnson, T.J. Waller, Heath Balkom, Chad Rambin, and Jackson Waller.
