Funeral services for Jacob B. Hammett will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. at First United Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley, Louisiana with Rev. Kenneth Dehart officiating. Interment will follow at Cotton Valley Cemetery in Cotton Valley under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2017 at First United Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley.
Jacob was born April 13, 1921 in Benton, Louisiana and entered into rest April 28, 2017 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife Moyra Hammett and son Eric Hammett.
He is survived by his son Charles T. Hammett and wife Bonnie of Sibley, daughter Heather Garlington and husband Buck of Sibley, daughter-in-law Nelwyn Hammett of Minden, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ben Hammett, Steve Hammett, Toby Sinclair, Richard Downs, Wade Coile, and Michael McCorkhill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Hammett and Rick Hammett.
