Graveside Services were held for Mr. Jackie “Jack” Newton Cranford, age 92, at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery in Shreveport, LA, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation was on Friday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel, 405 East 5th Street, Homer, LA, from 4-6 p.m.
Jack was born in Mansfield, LA, on June 30, 1930, to Alfred N. and Clarice Rascoe Cranford. He entered into rest at his home in Homer on Monday, December 26, 2022. Jack worked at Red River Chevrolet for 31 years before starting his own MAC Tool business and then retiring 15 years later to Lake Claiborne. He loved his family and the outdoors of hunting, barge rides, flying his airplane, traveling and riding motor cycles with his sweet wife and especially their place on Lake Claiborne! He was a volunteer fireman for the Claiborne Fire Department, Arizona Road for many years. He was always ready to help!
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lois Rowe and Velma Harr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Marciel Turner Cranford; two daughters, Dianne Hedrick, and Denise Wisdom and husband Butch; a son, Dick Cranford and wife Barbara; a sister, Verna Dean Peterson and husband David; eight grandchildren, Eric, Keith, Kevin, Stephanie, Melissa, Jeff, Lydia, and Blake; fifteen great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Cranford’s family would like to express their gratitude to Pat and Debra Clawson, and Regional Hospice for the care given dad in his final days.
Pallbearers were his five grandsons and one great-grandson, Eric, Keith, Kevin, Jeff, Blake, and Dylan.
