Jackie Louise Cathey

Jackie Louise Cathey, 84, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 20, 2026 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on July 4, 1942 in Robeline, Louisiana to Rufus Jenkins and Verma Esther Moore Jenkins.

Jackie found joy in tending her yard, cherished her sons with fierce devotion, and delighted in watching and feeding the hummingbirds that gathered at her feeders.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Hayes; second husband, Howard Cathey; sons, Lindell Hayes and Michael Hayes; brother, Jerry Jenkins; and brother-in-law, Gaylon Owens. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Terry Hayes and wife, Tyrha; sisters, Barbara Owens, Dean Funderburk and husband, Freddy; and sister-in-law, Amy Hayes.

Jackie will be terribly missed, but we find peace in knowing we will see her again one day.
