Jack C. "Jackie" Holomon II

Born May 1, 1947, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jack and Sybil “Shari” Holomon, Jack Chappel Holomon II, also known as “Jackie” but most proud to be called “Pappy” would be the second of six siblings. He is preceded in death by his father Jack, mother Shari, and sister Sandra Holomon.

Jackie, an avid horseman throughout the majority of his life, spent many years training, riding, and competing doing speed events at different rodeo clubs. His favorite event was the poles. He would always say that he only ran the barrels just to get loose for the poles. Throughout the years he won multiple saddles and belt buckles. Many of which he would give to friends and family. There have been numerous occasions that when ask about his buckle, he’d take it off and give it away. That was his nature.

Jackie’s life would change August 24, 1998, by welcoming a grandchild and he would soon be known as “Pappy”. His ways with life and horses would change to accommodate a new cowgirl. Always making sure she was well mounted. Not too long after, on December 2, 2002, he would add a special little cowboy to the mix. His priorities now included many days and late nights at playdays, softball, football, baseball practices, and games, and shuttling kids to and from school. Never once did he complain. His love was evident in all he did. Our hearts are broken but we rejoice in the knowledge that we will meet again.

Left to cherish his memory are his brother, Alvin Holomon and wife Nona, sister Cookie Goddard and husband Dan, brother Mike Holomon and wife Becky, sister Lisa Roberts and husband Ken, son Chris Holomon and wife Ann, daughter Dusti Swegel and husband Jeff, daughter Autumn and husband Ronnie. Grandchildren Stefan, Robert, Abigail, Mary Ann Denmon and husband Zach, Cohen Holomon and wife Lauren, Katie Fisher and husband Nick, and Jakob Walker, five great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Funeral services celebrating Jackie will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Pastor Kay Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Brushwood Cemetery in Dubberly, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Holomon, Mike Holomon, Ronnie Walker, Jakob Walker, Dewayne Walker, and Tommy LaPointe.
