Jack K. Calvert

SHREVEPORT, LA - Jackie Kenneth Calvert, age 83, passed away on February 12, 2017. Jack was born November 3, 1933, in Shreveport, La. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 10:00AM at Forest Park Cemetery West, officiated by Bro. Joe Bob Alexander. Jack was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his sons, Jay and wife Donna of Houston, TX and Scott and wife Tracy of Stonewall, La; Four granddaughters, Lauren Lamb and husband Ryan, Lindsay Calvert and fiancé Keenan Voit, Molly Calvert, and Haley Calvert, one great-granddaughter, Clarke Lamb and one great-grandson, Knox Lamb; one brother Don Calvert of Chesterfield, Va. Special family members include Jason and Amy McMullen and their children Shelby and Logan. Mr. Calvert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Maxene Calvert, his father, William Bryan Calvert Sr, mother Bertha Calvert, sisters Norma Rasmussen, Marilyn Calvert, and Linda Eberhardt and brother W. B. Calvert. Jack worked at Libby Owens Ford for 17 years, and then continued his career at Western Electric, retiring in 1988 after more than 20 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Jack was active in the Caddo Fire District 3 Fire Department for many years. Jack was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church Shreveport for over 30 years and was a current member of First Baptist Church Greenwood.
