SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA - Irvin H. Levine, 85, was the husband of Maxine Greenstein Levine and the father of Jody Levine. Irvin was born February 8, 1933, to Libby Berest Levine and David Levine and passed away November 18, 2018. Any description of Irvin must be done in superlatives. He was an incredible husband, a remarkable father and a man who cared about everyone, and never forgot a name. To those who knew him, no eulogy is required; for those who did not, words alone could never suffice. Truly, he was a beacon whose light shined brightly on all who met him!
He was a resident of Shreveport for 50 years. Irvin was an active congregation member of Congregation Agudath Achim. He served on the Ritual and Cemetery Committees and was an active member of the Men's Club. Irvin served as a Chaplain's Assistant in the United States Army.
Mr. Levine was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ruth Levine and Harriet Teller. He is survived by his loving wife Maxine Levine; and devoted daughter, Jody Levine.
A Graveside Service for Irvin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Agudath Achim Cemetery, corner of Yale and Walnut, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rabbi Dr. Jana De Benedetti and Cantor Neil Schwartz.
