Irma Louise Sikes-Elmore

Irma Louise Sikes Elmore 89, of Minden, Louisiana entered her heavenly home September 14, 2023, in Homer, Louisiana. She was born December 15, 1933, in Minden, Louisiana to Dillard Burns and Stella Jones Valentine. Louise was a loving mother and grandmother not only to her own children but many more that became hers with all the love she had to share. Her home was open, and she always loved remembering all the biscuits and rolls she made and the house full of hunters eating and drinking coffee.  

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Bob Sikes, Barney Benefield, and Barge Elmore.

She is survived by her children, Dillard Sikes and wife Ginger, Grover Sikes and wife Lisha, Elisha Sikes Taylor and husband Dal, and Lavetra Sikes Johnson; stepsons, Dewayne Benefield and Darrell Elmore; grandchildren, Rebecca Sikes Merritt, Kerry Sikes, Paula Sikes, James Sikes, Sabrina Benefield Castle, Angelia Benefield Murphy, Patrick Benefield. Georgia Ball, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Sikes Cemetery in Evergreen Community in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Bro. John Franklin will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be James Sikes, Jeremy Siles, Sam Langley, John Byrd, Claude Reeves, and David Robinson.

Honorary pallbearers wil be Dr. Gary Daniel, Dr. Raghu Nathan, and Dr. Sam Abshire.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to donor's choice.
