Iris Maria Chambless

Funeral services for Iris Maria Chambless, 82, will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tony Nations.
 
Iris was born on March 4, 1942, to Gene and Frankie Noble in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Shreveport.
 
Iris was a resident of Shreveport. She graduated from Fair Park High School in 1960. She was married to the love of her life, William A. Chambless, Sr., for 58 wonderful years. She loved bluegrass music and all holidays. She was big into the UMW, making crafts, and loved cooking and baking. She loved her family and looked forward to visiting with them, and she loved telling stories about her family. She was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Iris never met a stranger.
 
Iris is preceded in death by her parents, Byron Eugene Noble and Frankie Katherine Brown Noble; husband, William A. Chambless, Sr.; brothers, Elliot Noble, and Byron Noble, Jr.; and sister, Frankie Cole. Left to cherish her memory are her children, William A. Chambless, Jr. and wife, Martha, and Mark Chambless and wife, Kim; grandchildren, William A. Chambless III, and Amy Lovell and husband, Kaiser; great-grandson, Thomas Lovell, and Troy Lovell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
Honoring Iris as pallbearers will be Roy Noble, Bryan Butler, Brandon Cole, Steve Lavery, Ron Rice and Doug Elston. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Cole, Eugene Noble, Willie Chambless and Kaiser Lovell.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the charity of their choice.
