HOUSTON, TX: A graveside service for Mrs. Imogene "Jeannie" Sayers Gilbert, 87, of Houston, TX will be held at Summerfield Cemetery of Summerfield, LA, on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., with Steve Reeves officiating, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jeannie was born August 13, 1932, in Summerfield, LA, to John F. and Lillie Deese Sayers. She entered into rest on Sunday, October 13, 2019, in Pasadena, TX.
Mrs. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Era Sayers Givens and Doris E. Sayers; and a nephew, Mark E. Branch.
She is survived by her loving husband for 65 years, Charles A. "Jack" Gilbert; two nieces, Carlene P. Branch and Sharon B. Dragland; and a nephew, Jason L. Branch.
In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Jeannie, her family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Research Hospital or donor's choice.
