Imogene Burley Wallace King passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at 94 years of life.
A graveside service honoring the life of Imogene Burley Wallace King will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St Vincent Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Brown. Visitation will take place Friday, October 15, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mother, "Nana" is with the Lord, Jesus Christ, and God the Father in Heaven now, having outlived her brothers, Louis, Harold, Jimmy, and sisters, Eloise and Betty. We celebrate the joyous memories of a long and productive life and miss her greatly.
Imogene Burley Wallace King was born in Natchez, Mississippi in 1927 to Filmore and Aletha Burley.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John David Wallace Jr; two sons, John David III, and Steven Michael; second husband, Charles Byron King; and great-granddaughter, Ireland Henderson.
She is survived by her son, Richard Wallace; grandchildren, Christie Costello, Jennifer Henderson, Steven Michael Wallace Jr., Verna Jean Wallace, Richard Wallace Jr., Angela Leong, Kevin Wallace; 14 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sawyer.
Serving Imogene as honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Burley, Harold Burley, Ray Routon Jr., Kyler McNeely, John David Wallace III, and Steven Michael Wallace.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph Carpenter House, the Guest House, Montclair Assisted Living and Willis-Knighton Hospital for the outstanding care, compassion and love provided in this journey.
