Funeral services for Howard Thomas Lewis, Sr., 82, of Homer, Louisiana will be held Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Rose-Neath from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Howard Thomas Lewis, Sr. was born December 5, 1938, in Stonewall, Mississippi and passed away October 5, 2021, in Minden, Louisiana. Howard proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a truck driver for many years. He was known by his friends as the watermelon peddler and was loved by his family and everyone that knew him. Howard never met a stranger. He will be missed by all those that knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jackson Lewis and Mattie Taylor Lewis; wife, Betty Joan Lewis; son, Mike Lewis; brothers, Floyd Johnson, Lloyd Johnson and William Lewis; and sister, Claudia Gable. Howard is survived by his son, Tommy Lewis and wife Brenda; daughter, Zelda Garcia and husband Estevan, Sr.; grandchildren, Amy Pruitt and husband Clay, Jill Peterson and husband Phillip, Estevan Garcia, Jr. and wife Katie, Brian Garcia, Victoria Garcia Jennings and husband Ben, Katie Moore and husband Timbo, Krisi Jowers and husband Richard, Sarah Giese and husband Jason, Drake Lewis, John Green, Jeanie Marie Hampton, Melinda Green, Leatha Woods, Tiffany Cole, Randall Cherry and James Green; sister, Velma McGrew; numerous great grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
