Funeral services for Howard W. Hughes will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Randy Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery south of Gibsland, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time.
Howard was born October 1, 1938 in Bastrop, Louisiana and entered into rest October 2, 2019 at his home in Minden, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie "Buck" and Mary Edna Rawls, wife Kathryn Hughes, son, Howard Bradley Hughes, and brother, Robert Hughes.
He is survived by his son, Eric Hughes of Nevada, daughter, Melinda Parnell and husband John of Dubberly, brothers, Lonnie Hughes and wife Sandra of Acme, Jimmy Hughes and wife Brenda of Elizabeth, and Louie Hughes of Plain Dealing, and grandchildren, Evangeline Hughes, Gus Hughes, Thomas Parnell and Sarah Parnell.
Pallbearers will be John Volentine, William Hughes, Thomas Parnell, John Dennis Kelly, Eric Hughes, and Bill Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Wingfield and members of Alpha House.
The family extends a special thanks to our special sitter, Ms. Jerry from Country Crossroads Resources and Nancy Hilton.
Memorials may be made to Alpha House, Minden, Louisiana.
