Hershell A. Jones

Funeral services celebrating the life of Hershell A. Jones will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at First Pentecostal Church in Cotton Valley, Louisiana with Bro. Josh DeHart officiating. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery in Nashville, Arkansas under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Hershell was born September 4, 1938, in Rayville, Louisiana and entered into rest on October 6, 2026, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana.

Hershell is survived by his wife, Shirley Jones of Cotton Valley; son, Marty Jones and wife Carmen of Bossier City; step daughter, Brandy Backofen and husband Gregg of Hemphill, Texas; sister, Fanna Sue Whitehead of Cookville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Cody, Caleb, Wyatt, Henry, Noah, Madison, and Zack; and special friends, Ida “Little Bit” and Kerry Dale McClary, Roger and Undean Carr, and Jason and Tina Adams.
