Mansfield, La -- Funeral services honoring the life of Retired Mansfield Fire Chief Henry "Jimmy" Jackson, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at Noble Baptist Church, Noble LA with Reverend Jimmy Price officiating. Interment will follow at Pelican Cemetery in Pelican, LA. The family will receive friends at Noble Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
Henry was born April 3, 1938 in Mansfield, LA to Charlie and Cora Woods Jackson and entered into rest on January 26, 2019, in Shreveport, LA. He retired after 41 years of service from the Mansfield Fire Department serving 6 years prior to his retirement in 2004 as fire chief.
Preceding Henry in death are his parents Charlie & Cora Jackson; brothers Jessie, Frank, Claude, Charlie, Curtis, Robert, Gene Jackson, & Charles Henry Bissell; sisters Virginia Pittman, Louise Bickham, Helen Corley, Dean King and baby sister Myrtle. Those left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years Bobbie Burt Jackson; son Thomas W. Jackson & wife Angel of Noble LA; daughter, Cora Jackson Fisher & husband Wesley of Pelican, LA; sister Martha Kelly Odom & husband James of Bernice, LA; brother in law Douglas King and sister in laws Yvonne Jackson and Mary Burt; grandchildren Chasity Springer & husband Isaac, Kenneth Spears, Christopher Jackson & Kaitlyn Jackson; great grandchildren Dan Spears, Jack Springer & Sophie Springer along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Henry as pallbearers will be Bubba Locke, Billy Locke, Charlie Metcalf, Gary Hobbs, Michael Curry & Harvey Nichols.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in memory of Henry Jackson.
