Henry Edgar Harper Jr.

Henry Harper,95, a recent resident of Palestine, TX. Passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at home. Graveside services will be held at Summer Grove Cemetery on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Mr. Harper was retired from Cotton Baking Company in 1985. He was born in Shreveport, LA on April 19, 1923 where he resided most of his life. He married his high school sweet heart, Ruby Virginia Hall Harper. They were married 75 years. He served in the Army in WWII in the first Calvary Division. Mr. Harper moved to Palestine, TX in April 2018 after a lengthy illness. Henry was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Patrick Neal Harper. He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Ruby Virginia Harper; one son, Henry E. Harper III of Harrison AK; two daughters, Patricia (William) Luce of Palestine, TX and Penny (Jerry) Parks of Keithville, LA; grandchildren include, Henry E. Harper IV and Reneè; Sean Preston Harper and Ginny; Heather Dawn Harper; Dan Lucas and Heidi; Jennifer Luce, William Luce III and Elizabeth; Roxanne Roberts and Danny; Jerry (Beau) Parks and Brandy. He also has 14 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
