Helen Marie Farmer Givens

A graveside service for Helen Marie Farmer Givens, 83, will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Longstraw Cemetery near Choudrant, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Larry Emory. Helen was born on February 24, 1939 in Choudrant, Louisiana to James Garland Farmer and Winifred Lucille Youngblood Farmer and passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from C.E. Byrd High School in 1957 and worked as an Executive Secretary for several years. She was a devoted wife and mother and above all, served the Lord and shared her love for Jesus. She is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, James A. Givens, III and step-father, C.W. Loyd. Left to cherish her memory are her son, James A. Givens, IV and wife, Lora and Thomas G. Givens and wife, Dora; granddaughter, Candace Ann Treat and husband, Brian; grandsons, Austin Givens, Jonathan Givens and Aaron Smith and a host of other family members and friends.
