Helen Smith Cook

Helen Smith Cook passed peacefully on the morning of October 4, 2022. Helen was born in Pittsburg, Texas on December 29, 1923, and passed away in her sleep at her home in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by family.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to departing for the cemetery at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Bob Moore.

Helen was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Travis Cook,  and shortly after their wedding, Travis was drafted into the Army Air Corps and served during WWII. Upon his return home, Helen and Travis relocated to Shreveport and together they raised three children.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Travis; son, Gordon Dale Cook, and daughter, Susan Ann Cook Kelley. She is survived by her loving son, Jerry Dean Cook and his wife,  Carrol; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many friends and relatives.
