Hastings Cleveland Taylor, 85, viewing and funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home beginning with the visitation service at 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Immediately following to the funeral service. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bryceland.
Cleve was born December 17, 1935 in Jena, Louisiana and passed away January 12, 2021 in Ruston, Louisiana.
Cleve was a resident of Bryceland and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic in the Shreveport area. He worked for TL James Company for many years and was highly revered in his career. Cleve was well travelled, working nationally and internationally. He enjoyed spending his leisure time tinkering with anything that had a motor. Cleve loved and lived his life daily with equipment buying, trading, and selling. He loved to cook, often barbecuing for friends and family. When he wasn't cooking, fishing was one of his favorite pastimes.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sybil Calhoun Taylor; 5 Children, Sharon Taylor Dillingham and friend James Terrell, Connie \"Taylor\" Drysdale and husband Andy, Cleveland Ray Taylor and wife Patty, Rodney Dean Taylor and wife Robin, and Gregory Wayne Taylor; 9 Grandchildren, Lauren Melanson and husband Matthew, Ashley Fuller and husband Chris, Rayelyn Bonvillian and husband Anthony, Austin Taylor, Raven Morvant and husband Keith, Rachel Senez and husband Donald, Zachary Taylor, Heather Taylor, Elijah Taylor, and 11 Great-Grandchildren. And his siblings, Hugh Taylor and wife Patricia, Clara Marion, Gail Laird, and Linda Guidry.
Honoring Mr. Taylor as pallbearers: Rodney Taylor, Donald Senez, Gregory Taylor, Elijah Taylor, Anthony Bonvillian, James Terrell, Donnie Benard, and John Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers: Andy Drysdale, and Ray Taylor.
