Celebration of life and going home service for Harvey Ray Turner, 78, was held Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Coushatta at 2:00 PM with Rev. Billy Davis officiating. Interment was followed at New Ebenezer Cemetery in Castor, LA. Visitation was held at the funeral home chapel Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Ray was born June 7, 1938 in Shreveport, LA, to Harvey Lee and Colon Rowell Turner and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 7, 2016, in Coushatta, LA. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and proudly served his country in the Air Force. He will be fondly remembered by his friends, family and community for his passion of the old country lifestyle.
Preceding him in death were his parents; spouse, Melva Byers Turner; and son-in-law, Gregory Palmer
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Rodney Lee Turner and wife, Judy of Coushatta; daughters, Cathy Palmer of Coushatta and Brittany Thomas of Shreveport; sisters, Lawanda Marie Turner Fryar and Judith Ann Turner Hildedrand and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Daniel Palmer, Billy Palmer, Mark Cloud, Matt McCoy, Thomas Boyler, and Clarence "Monkey" McMillian.
