Harold Solomon Tipton

Harold Solomon Tipton passed away in his sleep on October 25, 2018 at the age of 90 following a lengthy illness. His Lord reserved a special home for him! Harold was born on June 17, 1928 on a farm in Hodges, TX; a rural community 12 miles NE of Levelland TX. He and seven brothers and a sister attended Church and School at Hodges which was established in 1926. Harold attended Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, TX where he met his wife: Rhoda Faye Ellison. They were married for 57 years when she passed of ALS on March 5, 2004. Harold and Rhoda had two daughters and a son together. Harold spent his career with Oilwell Supply Co. He worked for them for 38.2 years. While at Wayland he also met Frances Jones who, following Rhoda's passing, he became re-acquainted with. Frances had lost her husband. Harold and Frances were married on May 26, 2007. They had 11 wonderful years of marriage together prior to his death. Harold and Rhoda joined Trinity Heights Baptist Church at 3820 Old Mooringsport Rd in Shreveport, La 71107 in January 1981. Harold and Frances continued as active members of Trinity Heights Baptist Church following their marriage. Harold was a devoted father and Christian! He was baptized in a lake following a revival in 1934.
