HOMER, LA: Funeral services were held for Mr. Harold D. McDaniel, 80, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Homer, LA, on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. Interment followed at Holly Springs Cemetery near Homer. The family received friends at the funeral home from 10-11 A.M., prior to the service.Mr. McDaniel was born January 21, 1939, in Springhill, KS, to Clifford James and Ruby Frazee McDaniel. He was one of thirteen children. Mr. McDaniel entered into rest on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Shreveport, LA. He serviced his country in the U.S. Airforce. Mr. McDaniel worked in construction and was a member of the Union Operator Local 101 in Kansas City, MO. After he and his wife moved to Louisiana, he continued to work with heavy equipment up until he retired. Mr. McDaniel would help neighbors and friends if there was a need, especially with any heavy equipment was required. He loved his dog, Brittany, who shadowed him where ever he went. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Miller McDaniel; parents; five sisters, Denora Edler, Gertrude Walkins, Maxine Wright, Delores Jones and Imogene Brooks; and three brothers, Harley McDaniel, Loren McDaniel and Cecil McDaniel.His is survived by three sons, Bradley McDaniel, Scott McDaniel and David McDaniel; three sisters, Joyce Silver and husband Al, Marilyn Helt and husband Eddie, and Carolyn Rood and husband Bob; one brother, J.C. McDaniel and wife Sandy; several grandchildren; and with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Harvey Huse, Rick Spiller, James Waganer, Tommy Whitman, Corey Thompson, and Allen Hammonds.
