Funeral services honoring the life of Hackley Evan Willis, Sr. will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Haughton, 105 E. Washington Ave., Haughton, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Larry Earhart of Salem Baptist Church in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
Hackley Evan Willis, Sr. was born October 21, 1948 in Mobile, Alabama to Joe Bryant Willis, Sr. and Maude Lee Anderson Willis and passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Hackley graduated from Port Gibson High School and Hinds County Junior College’s Technical School. He worked for many years and retired from Conoco Phillips Petroleum and Chesapeake Energy Corporation. On October 13, 1968, he married the love of his life, Janice Humphrey Willis and together they raised their two sons. Besides spending time with his family, Hackley loved hunting and fishing with his boys and good friends, John and Harrison Voight.
Hackley is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe B. Willis, Jr.; and sisters, Betty Foster, Carolyn Neece, and Lorrain Willis Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of over 53 years, Janice Willis; sons, Hack Willis and wife, Jessi, and Wiley Willis and wife, Cindy; granddaughters, Starla Marie Willis, Addison Claire Willis, and Kaylea Mei Willis; and grandsons, Bradley Thomas Rachal, Tripp Logan Willis, and Braden Wiley Willis.
