Gyndell Fay Golden Henry

Gyndell Fay Golden Henry went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 29, 2025, at the age of 82.

Affectionately known as “Granny,” Gyndell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Bartley Doyle Henry. She is survived by her children, Lorrie Hall and husband Tommy, Kerry Henry and wife Dea, and Jennifer Henry and Christina Bridges, her brothers, Larry Golden and wife Judy, Neil Golden and wife Susan, and sister, Gail Winfield and the late Jon Winfield.

Granny is also survived by her six grandchildren: Zach Hall and wife Brittney, Luke Hall and wife Larryn, Leah Sarpy and husband Russel, Bart Henry and wife Megan, Nik Henry and wife Callie, and Kenzy Castaneda and husband Juan. She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to her great-grandchildren: Halli Hall, Holden Hall, Cait Hall, Landry Henry, Leland Henry, Ridley Henry, Nikki Hall, Jude Hall, Madilyn Sarpy, Aubrey Sarpy, Ava Sarpy, Lottie Henry, Leonard Henry, Lennon Henry, Livie Castaneda, and Valerie Castaneda. She was also very close to her host of nieces and nephews.

Born on March 1,1943, in Port Arthur, Texas, Gyndell moved with her family to Stanley, Louisiana, in 1953. She became deeply connected to the Stanley community and school. She later married Doyle in 1961, and together they built a loving home. For years, she was known to many around Stanley as “The Avon Lady”. After raising her children, Gyndell pursued her passion for caring for others by studying and working in nursing.

She will be remembered for many things, including her steadfast love for the Lord, her faithful involvement with the Stanley Church of Christ, and the relationships she nurtured there. She was a constant supporter at the special occasions, athletic events, and milestones of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, rarely missing a game. Granny also had a love for gardening and flowers, antiques, and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia.
