A graveside service for Gwendolyn "Lyn" Mole, 92, will be held 9:00 a.m. Saturday March 5, 2022 at Rose-Neath Cemetery,5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Reverend Tom Brown.
Lyn was born July 6, 1929 in Ruislip, England to William Charles Emptage and Gwendoline Stoddern Emptage and passed away on March 1, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Lyn served in the Women's Royal Air Force from 1945 until 1947. She met her husband while working at the RAF Manston in Kent, Englend. Lyn married the love of her life Jim Mole in Ramsgate, England on June 2, 1951. They were married for 70 years. She traveled extensively while Jim was in the Air Force and settled in Bossier City when Jim retired from Barksdale Air Force Base. Lyn was an avid quilter and a longtime member of Red River Quilters Guild. She also was a very talented when it came to making ceramics and operated a ceramic hobby shop while she and her husband were stationed at Sewart Air Force Base. She enjoyed reading and cooking. Lyn is going to be greatly missed by all.
Lyn was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sylvia Croft and Jean Bauman. She is survived by her husband, James "Jim" Mole; daughters, Jill Mole and Gail Colgan; grandson, Graham Colgan and wife, Karen; great-grandchildren, Ryder Colgan, Remi Colgan and Marley Colgan.
