Funeral services for Grady Roy Phillips will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Gilgal Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Thursday at 10 a.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church.
Roy was born May 20, 1944 in Smackover, Arkansas and entered into rest April 2, 2019 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Hilda Teer and brother, Martin Phillips.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda Phillips of Minden, daughter, Kristi Chapman and husband Derrick of Shreveport, sisters, Ann Pearson and Mary Nelson of Homer, brothers, Herbert Phillips of McNeil, Arkansas, and James Phillips of El Dorado, Arkansas, one grandson, Michael Grant Fontana, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Pearson, Frank Pearson, Jim Phillips, Danny Phillips, Bobby Nelson, and John Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Teer, Rod Phillips, Tom Cook, and Clint Brem.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude.
The family extends a special thanks to their many friends, church family, VA Medical staff and Christus Hospice and Palliative Care.
