Grace Marie Guillory

A funeral mass for Grace Marie Guillory, of Hessmer, will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer. Burial will follow at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.

Grace Guillory, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Avoyelles Hospital in Marksville surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Grace had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. An avid puzzle enthusiast, she loved spending quiet moments piecing together puzzles. When her health allowed, she found peace in gardening, tending to her flowers and watching them bloom brought her genuine happiness.

A true lover of nature, she adored hummingbirds and often sat around watching them to catch a glimpse of their delicate flutter. Christmas was her favorite time of year gathering with family, sharing stories, laughter, and traditions that will live on in her memory. And no holiday (or summer day) was complete without a plate of steamed crabs or shrimp, a couple of her favorite treats.

Her love for family was the heartbeat of her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, especially during the holidays, and leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Jerry Paul Guillory of Hessmer; son, Brett Guillory of Hessmer; daughters, Celeste (Scott) Roe of Port Allen and Amy (Roy) Voinche of Marksville; brother, Todd (Angie) Marks of Port Allen; sister, Connie (Larry) Gilbert of Zachary; grandchildren, Mitchell Roe, Peyton Roe, Alyssa Roe all of Port Allen, Savannah Voinche and Isabelle Voinche of Marksville; brother-in-law, Ed Gremillion of Bunkie. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Wilbert & Jeanne Marks; sister, Jane “Peewee” Gremillion.

A visitation will begin at 4:00pm until 10:00pm on Friday, August 22, 2025 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville. A rosary prayer service will begin at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Marksville.
