A graveside service for Gloria Jeanne Morgan, 93, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Rd., Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Dye.
Gloria Jeanne was born in Haynesville, Louisiana on November 28, 1927 to John and Elizabeth Ware and passed away, Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
She married the love of her life L.G. Morgan in 1946 after he returned from World War II. They were happily married for 70 years at the time of L.G.'s death.
Gloria Jeanne worked as a secretary for the Louisiana AFL-CIO in Baton Rouge for many years. She retired in 1984 and she and L.G. moved back to Bossier City to be close to family. Gloria loved to cook and took pleasure in watching people enjoy her food. When she wasn't in the kitchen, she enjoyed bowling. She was a competitive bowler and was still bowing an occasional 200 game late into her 70's.
She was a member of Cypress Baptist Church in Benton and enjoyed fellowship with her Christian family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; husband; five sisters and three brothers. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Michael Morgan and wife, Ammiee; three grandchildren, Mallory Huffstickler and husband, Trey, Mark Morgan and Tammy Buttitta; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials may be made to the Senior Ministry at Cypress Baptist Church, 4701 Palmetto Rd., Benton, Louisiana 71006.
Gloria loved her family dearly and will be missed.
