Funeral services for Gloria Janice Word Gilcrease, also known as "Frog Lady", will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Forest Park West Cemetery in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Pastor Scott Ethridge of The Healing Place. Janice was born on October 15, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Marvin Burford Word and Vella Lee Brazzel Word and passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Janice was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janelle Jones and mother and father-in-law, Arnold and Claudia Gilcrease. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Claude Arnold Gilcrease; children, Terry Jean Pine, Claude "Bubba" Gilcrease, Jr., Kimberly Denise Manchester and Marvin Lee Gilcrease; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Honoring Janice as pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law. The family would like to express special thanks to Kristen, Breanna, Melanie Gates and Jazz for their care and compassion given to Janice. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
