Glenda Gail Johnson (née Roth) passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, following a lengthy illness. A private celebration of Gail’s life will be held in the near future for extended family and close friends.
Ms. Johnson grew up in South Louisiana and Baton Rouge, but relocated to Minden in 1964 when her spouse James M. Johnson returned to his hometown to practice law.
Ms. Johnson is survived by her daughter Danielle Roth-Johnson and son-in-law John P. Tuman, her beloved grandchildren, Celeste Turan Gail Tuman and Alexander James Vladimir Tuman, all of Las Vegas. She was predeceased by her spouse James McDade Johnson and her daughter Kimberly Dawn Johnson.
The family extend their heartfelt thanks to the friends and relatives who visited Gail and supported her family during her illness: David De Soto, Stan Barnett, Roderick Gilbert, Wendy Bryan, Ms. Evelyn Dandridge, and the Reverend Robert F. Dandridge. In particular, they are grateful for all the wonderful staff who cared for her in her final months at both Claiborne Memorial Medical Center and Presbyterian Village. Finally, they are grateful for the care and support provided by Dr. Cliff Salmon and the staff at the Family Medical Clinic of Homer.
