Glenda E. Aycock 64, passed away February 13, 2021 at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. A funeral service for Glenda will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana with Pastor Matt Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery. 601 US-80 East, Haughton, Louisiana 71037.
Glenda was born March 18, 1956 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Glynn Hale Emmons and Ethel Caughman Emmons. She resided in Bossier City, Louisiana her entire life. She graduated from Airline High School in 1973 and continued her education at Northwestern State University where she received her Register Nursing Degree and practiced nursing for 15 years, at which time she attained her real estate license and was active in the real estate field until her passing. Glenda met and married the love of her life in 1979, Raymond Aycock and they had two sons, Russell and Andrew. Glenda was a master gardener and loved working with flowers and plants. When not in the garden, you could find her traveling, at antique shops, looking at old homes or shopping a T.J. Maxx. After all of the shopping you could find her with a large platter of big boiled shrimp.
Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; brother Larry Emmons; and grandmother, Sidney "Nanny" Caughman. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Raymond; sons, Russell Aycock and wife, Sarah, Andrew Aycock and wife, Megan; four grand children, Miller, Wade, Sally and little Mabry; cousins, Louise Hebert, Ashley and Amy Van Meter, Chris and Margaret Lemon; friends Barbara Christian, Suzann Boyter, Margene Waters and Sherry Bruton, who were like her sisters; and two Boston Terrier fur babies Pearl and Gabby.
Honoring Glenda as pallbearer are Jim Wiseman, James Smith, Clarence Kennedy, Raymond Aycock, Ricky Christian and Nick Bruton. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Halbert, James Quigley, Eddie Weathersby and the rest of the old guys.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to Lifewater Church, 2163 Airline Drive, Suite 109, Bossier City, Louisiana 71111
