Funeral services honoring the life of Gladys Marie Newsome will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation with the family will be held at 9:30 A.M. prior to the service. Officiating the service will be Reverend Kirby Hitt. Interment will follow in Haughton Cemetery, Haughton, Louisiana. Gladys Marie Newsome was born on November 3, 1941 in Forest, Louisiana to Thomas and Lela Nielsen and passed away peacefully on Friday, November 8, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jesse "Sonny" Trainer; brothers, Thomas Nielsen, Jr. and Robert Nielson and sister, Janice Robinson. Gladys is survived by her loving husband, William H. Newsome; son, Danny Trainer and wife, Diane, of Doniphan, Missouri; daughter, Cindy Alford and husband, Jerry Don of Winnsboro, Louisiana; siblings, Gina Warbington, Jimmy Nielsen and wife, Brenda, Mary Lou Richardson and husband, Jimmy and Evie Johns; grandchildren, Rachel Watkins, Christina Pierce and husband, Jerry Ward, Robert and John Trainer, Sabrina Yoder and husband, Chad and Michael Hardwick and wife, Beth; great- grandchildren, Koby Yoder, Brooklyn Pierce, Jacob Carter, Cassidy Carter, Hayden Hardwick, Layne Pierce, Haylee Hardwick, Blake Pierce, Bryce Yoder, Layne Englerth, Aiden Englerth, Cameron Britt, CayCay Watkins and many nieces and nephews. Honoring Gladys as pallbearers will be Scott Nielson, Neal Nielson, J.J. Nielson, Michael Hardwick, Jerry Glen Alford, and Bobby Nielson.
