Germaine was born in Peterborough, N.H. on October 9, 1940, the third daughter of Leonard and Lily Wolfenden. The family included her three sisters, Lily, Jessie and Dorothy and moved to South Danbury, N.H. in 1951. She attended Andover High School from 1955 to 1957 where she met James but never dated. She graduated in 1958 from Concord High School.
She and James married in May 1964 and together they had three boys, Leonard, Steven and Michael. They in turn have given us six grandchildren, Angela, Kathryn, Kathleen, Michael Jr., Rylan and Devan as well as six great grandchildren Kiari, Simeon, Roselynn, Abigail, David and Robin.
Germaine worked as a bookkeeper for Sears & Roebuck & Co., Sprague Electric Co., both in Concord N.H. She retired from International Paper in 2001.
Germaine was a member of Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church where she encouraged their youth to play the hand bells. She taught Sunday School and played the violin. She was never afraid to express what may be troubling her.
She loved to knit, crochet and sew. Most of all, she enjoyed her property on Doc Steed Road in Webster Parish, LA.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 24, 2025. At 11:00 a.m. at Whispering Pines Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Officiating will be Bro. Mike Wilkes of Whispering Pines Missionary Baptist Church in Minden.
