Geraldine "Judy" H. Payne

Geraldine “Judy” H. Payne, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 4, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was born on March 28, 1943 to James Nubert Holland, Sr. and Ollie Dell Cockrell Holland in Parkdale, Arkansas.

She was a resident of Shreveport, Louisiana and worked at Johnny’s Beer Garden. She was a truck driver earlier in her career and traveled to all but two states in the U.S. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to church on Saturdays as a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Payne, Sr.; brothers, Jim Holland, Bennie Holland; sons, Martin Darrell Watts and Jerry Lee Galey. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Joe Payne, Jr. and wife, Dana Cobb; sister, Mary Jane Ledbetter and husband, Tommy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Nicholson of the Willis-Knighton Cancer Center for all the wonderful care and compassion given to our mother during her illness.
