George Morris Sorrell, Jr

On Monday, August 12, 2019, George, 60, of Austin, TX entered into eternal rest. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park West in Shreveport on Saturday, August 17, 2019 under the direction of Rose-Neath Southside. Brother Paul DeRousse will officiate. There will be a 30 minute visitation prior to the service at the gravesite. George was born March 25, 1959 in Shreveport, LA to George M. "Sonny" and Derrell Jean Witteborg Sorrell. George was a proud graduate of LSU Baton Rouge. George was preceded in death by his mother, Derrell Jean and two nephews, Jason Porter of Shreveport, LA and Boone Sorrell of Kansas. He is survived by his children, Luc and Landry of Austin, TX; his father and step-mother, George and Mary-George Sorrell of Greenwood, LA; sister, Diana Sorrell Porter and husband Mike of Shreveport, LA; brother, Grant Sorrell of Cambodia; niece, Ashley Sorrell Reiff and husband Patrick of South Carolina and niece, Marcy Sorrell of Kansas as well as 5 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews. The family would like to thank George's lifelong friend, Karen Stanley for all she has done.
