George Pugh, Jr.

A Graveside Service for George Pugh, Jr., 92, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewall, Louisiana. Brother Mike Hawkins will officiate the service.

George was born on May 13, 1933, in Coushatta, Louisiana, to George Tiny Pugh, Sr. and Mattie Pugh. He passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

George shared 72 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Gracie Withers Pugh. Together, they built a strong and loving family, grounded in faith and devotion. George was a man who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—especially his favorite pastimes, hunting and fishing. He also served in the United States Army.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gracie Withers Pugh; his parents, George Tiny and Mattie Pugh; his son, Steve Pugh; and his brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jerry Pugh (Cammie) and Jeff Pugh (Pam); his special granddaughter, Christy Devers; eight additional grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the family he so deeply loved.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Pugh, Jeff Pugh, Terry Strahan, Kyler Basinger, Joe Duke, and Brian Anderson.

George will be remembered for his quiet strength, love of the outdoors, and deep devotion to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
