George C. Fink, Sr.

George Clark Finck, Sr. was born August 28, 1933 in Lakeport, New York to John and Gladys Finck and passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020, in Bossier City, Louisiana. George graduated from Syracuse University in 1955. He became a United States Air Force pilot flying many different transport planes in his career from a Caribou to a KC 135 and received the Air Force Cross in Vietnam. After 23 years of service, he retired from the Air Force and taught JROTC at Haughton High School for 16 years and served 8 years on the Bossier Parish School Board. He was active in the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a dedicated member of St. George Episcopal Church in Bossier City, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister and two brothers. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Janet "Jan" Batten Finck; sons, George Finck, Jr., John Finck, David Finck and Mark Finck; four grandchildren; Melissa Lee and husband, Tyler, Lauren Bresch and husband, Chris, Travis Finck and wife, Ana and Matthew Finck and five great-grandchildren, William Finck, Brenner Bresch, Beckham Lee, Ezra Finck and Ella Finck. George and his beloved wife, Jan, were married almost 67 years and have spent many happy years with their family at their home in the woods at the lake. A Celebration of Life honoring George will be held at a later date this summer.
