George A Campbell

Keithville, LA - George Campbell age 72, passed away after a short illness on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born November 25, 1947 in Pineville, Louisiana to Zola and James Campbell. Mr. Campbell proudly served his country in the United States Army. He also was an employee for SWEPCO and retired after 28 years. George loved to fish, race cars, but more than anything, he loved coaching his girls' softball teams. Once he became a grandfather, his world revolved around the grandchildren, rooting them on from the sidelines as their biggest fan. Mr. Campbell is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Billie Campbell; three daughters, Stacy Woodall, Patricia Bateman and husband Charlie, and Jennifer Davis and husband Jason; six grandchildren, Jarett Perser, Jordan Perser, Griffin Woodall, Harli Smith, Mckynzie Smith and Andy Davis; nephew Shelby Coon, nieces Jan Myers, Tracy Hester and Lyndsey Evans; and brother-in-law, Kirby Evans and wife Candy. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 in the chapel of Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
