Gary Douglas Williams, Sr.

Gary Douglas Williams, Sr. was born in Dallas, Texas on March 16, 1937 and passed away May 23, 2025 at the age of 88.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ramona Airhart; son-in-law, Charlie Brooks; sister, Sylvia Guinn; and parents, Raymond and Edith Williams. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 69 years, Julia; his children, Gary Jr. (Buddy) and wife Laura, Richea Norden and husband Jeff, and Renee Brooks; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gary retired from Riley Beaird after 37 years where he was a general foreman. He was involved in several ministries with Summer Grove UMC including wheelchair ramp construction and painting field lines for soccer games. Gary had a passion for fishing which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. He also loved collecting guns especially ones from World War II. He was a perfectionist and instilled in his children the fact that if you do something it better be done right the first time. He personified what a perfect father and grandfather should be and will be remembered for his large but gentle loving presence.

A private family graveside service honoring the life of Gary will be held on at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 located at Forest Park West Cemetery.
