Gary Wayne Garner

Funeral services honoring the life of Gary Wayne Garner will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tom Brown. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Road, Shreveport, Louisiana. Gary Wayne Garner was born February 9, 1950 in Mansfield, Louisiana to Joseph Nat Garner and Doris May LaRue and passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy, serving 3 years in Vietnam and 3 years with the reserves. He loved spending time outdoors, especially the woods, and was an avid hunter. Gary is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Bobbie Darlene Garner; grandchildren, Skyler Markegard and Nicholas Markegard; siblings, Glenda Garner, Randy Garner and wife, Cindy, and Mary Hammond and husband, Barry; niece, Beth Hammond; and nephews, Jed Garner, Matt Garner, and C.J. Hammond. The family suggests any memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
