Athens - Services for Fredrick \"Bo\" Volentine will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Arcadia. Rev. Perry Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Tulip Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Fredrick Edwin Volentine better known as "Bo", lived to be 80 years old. He was born and raised in Athens, LA. He was a United States Navy veteran, a master heavy equipment operator, a gifted artist, but most of all he was an extremely talented guitar player all his life. As a young man Bo served his time in the Navy and loved all 4 years of his service. During his adult career Bo was a dairyman first, then known across many areas for his work as a talented heavy equipment operator. He retired from the Louisiana Department of Highways. Bo became a Christian in his early years of life. He loved and worshiped the Lord Jesus Christ. He was raised as a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Bo was so loved by many friends and family members and that love was returned to them all by him. Preceded in death by: (Paternal Grandparents) Dan and Cleo Volentine, (Maternal Grandparents) Will and Grace Lee, (Mother) Sudie Bernice Lee Volentine, (Father) Fredrick Dan Volentine, (Brother) Dan Millard Volentine, (Sister) Wanda Lou Volentine Head, and nephew Kevin Volentine. Survived by: (Brother and wife) Kenneth and Beverly Volentine, (Daughter) Dawn Easterling, (Son) Rodney Volentine, (Grandchildren) Niki Easterling, Natali Easterling, Nathan Easterling, Justin Volentine, April Smith, (Great grandchildren) Alex Easterling, Greyson Easterling, Carter Volentine, Gunner Ellis, Aiden Easterling, Hazel Volentine, (Dearest Friend) Bea Volentine Wilson. Honoring Bo as pallbearers will be Kenny Boy Volentine, Nathan Easterling, Justin Volentine, Alex Easterling, Richard Head, Andrew Head, Randy Baldree, Jimmy Spigener, and Freddie Spigener. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lovic Marsalis, Keith Keen, and Michael Head.
