Fred was born November 10, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York to Helen Little Kocher and Frederick Kocher and passed away peacefully July 18, 2018, after a lengthy illness in Shreveport, LA. He was a longtime resident of Shreveport. Fred worked as a grocery store clerk from 1950 until his retirement in 1987. He began working for A&P in New York City, taking a two year break to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed at Barksdale Air Force Base. After his service was completed, Fred transferred to A&P in Shreveport, working there until they closed all the Shreveport stores. At that time he went to work at Safeway where he worked until retirement. Fred's greatest love was his family. He was married to his wife Doris Kocher, for almost 50 years. After retirement, he took care of his granddaughter, Ashley Kocher and then his great-granddaughter, Mary Jane Bickham after school. He always said that those were the best years of his life.
