Visitation for Frederick J. Alex, Sr., 80, will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. A graveside service will be held at 1:30p.m. at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Kelly Lawrence.
Frederick was born December 23, 1941 in Niagara Falls, New York to Joseph John Alex, Sr. and Jeanette Szymaszek Alex, and passed away on March 18, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Frederick proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years as an aircraft maintenance supervisor. He served in Vietnam for 14 months. He was shot in the shoulder and one knee. After retirement he attended college and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Frederick went on to work for OSHA as an inspector. He loved hunting, fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He called them all at least twice a week.
Frederick is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Judith Alex; sisters, Christina Kazial and Mary Merkley. He is survived by children, Fred Alex, Jr., Mary Alex Hicks and wife, Debra; grandchildren, Joseph Alex and wife, Jade, Heather Alex, Judah Buck and wife, Ashton, Micah Buck, Lucas Alex; great-grandchildren, Joseph Alex, Jr., Blayden Alex, Bryson Cassidy, Kadeleigh Cassidy, Timothy Taylor, Jr., Danny Scott, Alexander Scott, Calliope Buck; brother, Joseph Alex, Jr.; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and a lot of long time friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials may be made to Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home, 3130 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City, Louisiana 71112, or to the charity of your choice.
