Freda Joan Ratcliff was born February 1, 1945, in Beaumont, Texas and passed away on October 15, 2024, after a brief illness. Freda grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana and made Minden, Louisiana her home after marrying Don Ratcliff on January 29, 1966. Freda graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport and Louisiana Tech University.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Iona Parsons, her sister, Dr. Claire Parsons, her brother, Wade Parsons, and her daughter, Christi Ratcliff.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don Ratcliff of Minden, son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Kellye Ratcliff of Ruston, granddaughter, Marley Ratcliff of Little Rock, Arkansas and granddaughter, Sydney Eccleston and husband Rylie of Lowell, Arkansas. She is also survived by her twin sister, Frances Jones of Bossier City, Louisiana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services celebrating the life of Freda will be held Friday, October 18, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church West Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Leland Crawford officiating. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service time. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Pallbearers will be Gary Haynes, Victor Jones, Wesley Jones, Doug McDaniel, Jack Montgomery, and Jeff Mourad.
Honorary pallbearers will be the We Care Sunday School Class of FBC, Minden, Elton Dugan, Bob Gorman, O.H. Haynes, III, and Bobby Mourad.
