Frank Baggett

Millard Frank Baggett was born June 8, 1932 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Millard Word and Maureen Bentley Baggett and passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 19, 2020. Frank received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Memphis State University in 1963, after serving his country as a radar technician in the United States Air Force from 1950-1954. In 1984, he married the love of his life, Norrine Furey Baggett. He was in advertising most of his career and got his start as a linotype operator. After graduating college, he worked his way up to account executive and eventually ran his own advertising agency for 10 years before he retired. Frank had many passions during his lifetime. He was a World War II aficionado and loved to travel the world with his wife by his side, visiting many historical sites. Switzerland was his favorite destination. He enjoyed acting and participated in many plays and musicals at the Shreveport Little Theatre. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love of jazz music. He even got to spend time with musician Pete Fountain in New Orleans before Pete became famous. He was a truly wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anne Marie Woodward and his step-son, Douglas Burns. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Norrine Baggett; step-children, Roberta Burns and partner, Sidney Torres III, Jeffrey Burns and wife, Susie, Gretchen Williams and husband, Jason, and Mary Ellen Burns; grandson, John Thomas Burns and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Jaythen, Kylie and Tobias; nieces, Debbie Cuneo and Kathy Childress; nephew, Donny Woodward and brother-in-law, Don Woodward. The family suggests any memorials in Frank's honor may be made to the Shreveport Little Theatre, 812 Margaret Place, Shreveport, Louisiana 71101 or the National WWII Museum, 945 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70130.
