Francis Wilson

Francis Ruth Wooley Wilson, 73, passed from this life following a period of deep heartbreak on Tuesday, January 6, 2026. She was born on April 19, 1952, the youngest child of John Adley Wooley and Jewell Nichols Wooley.

Francis was introduced to the love of her life, Allard Wilson, by his eldest sister, Pat. Allard truly was the love of her life, and she now joins him in eternal rest.

Francis devoted many years of service to the Louisiana school system, working as an aide, secretary, and administrator until her retirement in 2016. She also worked for Progressive Bank, Calhoun Property Management, and in property management in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was an outstanding woman of strong faith and an outspoken spirit. Francis was deeply involved in her church, faithfully serving as church secretary, bookkeeper, Sunday school teacher, and hospitality coordinator. To truly know Francis was to love her. She never met a stranger—her warmth and sincerity made everyone feel welcomed and cherished. Above all else, Francis was a devoted and loving mother and “Mimi.” Her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life, and she poured her heart into caring for them, praying for them, and loving them fiercely. As Mimi, she created a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love that her family will forever carry with them. To her nieces, she was also a devoted second mother, always answering when called upon and listening for hours when needed.

Francis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Allard Wilson; her parents, John and Jewell Wooley; her brothers, John Bruce Wooley and Donald Dwight Wooley; sister-in-law and best friend Patsy Jean Roath; brother-in-law Robert Shaw, Ronald Michael Brazzell Sr., and George Nation; sister-in-law Bonnie Wooley, Tommie Ciena Brazzell, and Sarah Dale Nation; niece Lois Wooley Kerry.

She is survived by her five children: Larry “Bo” Calhoun Jr. (Stacy) of Converse, Louisiana; Jonathan Lucas Calhoun (Tonya) of Logansport, Louisiana; Bryan Allard Wilson (Faith) of Calvary, Georgia; Melissa Carol Wilson of Dodson, Louisiana; and Wendy Nicole Wilson Ingles (Curt) of Sikes, Louisiana.

She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Ashleigh Kitrell (Caleb), Rylee Ingles, Lainey Ingles, Faithlynn Ingles, David Tinnell (Emily), Hunter Tinnell (Harley), Cody Henderson, Blaine Calhoun, Ben Calhoun, Macy Calhoun, and Dustin Burns (Trailbe); five great-grandchildren, Maggie Tinnell, Mason Tinnell, Presley Calhoun, Berklee Calhoun, and Whitley Calhoun; and one great-grandchild arriving soon.

Additional survivors include her sister, Yvonne Shaw of DeRidder, Louisiana; brother, Kenneth Wooley (Marjorie) of DeRidder, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Karleen Wooley; and her nieces and nephews, Gary Wooley (Suzanne), Marvin Wooley, JuTina Singletary (Doug), LaDaina Wooley, Wynta Shaw Briggs (Raymond), Autumn Wooley, and Donnie Wooley, along with many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
