Frances Sheppard was born September 4, 1940 in Dubach, Louisiana to James W. and Eloise Tucker Tanner. She was an exceptional artist, painting on several different kinds of materials, and often seen crocheting. Many of those who knew Frances could attest to her being a fan of gardening by her beautiful flower beds. She and her husband worked passionately at the two grocery stores they owned. She owned an infectious smile, and her energy was warm, tender, and supportive. She was a woman who lived life serving the Lord and advocating for many. She spent countless hours as a caretaker to many in need and never in those moments did she ask for anything in return. Frances Tanner Sheppard was and continues to be an eternally loving mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend. There exist no words to express how deeply her smile, laughter, and presence will be missed.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald C. Tanner; and sister, Martha Robicheaux. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 44 years, Robert M. Sheppard Jr.; brothers, Jimmy Young Tanner and Jerry Tanner; sons, Ricky Hood and wife, Linda, and Ronny Hood; daughter, Julie Rene Futrell and husband, Danny; stepson, James Sheppard and wife, Alisa; stepdaughter, Janet Sheppard; grandchildren Christina Futrell, Lydia Helton, Jennifer Hood, Jessica McCarty, Colton McCarty, Casey Collins, Justin Sheppard, Jeremy Sheppard and Aaron Sheppard; great-grandchildren, Waylon Sheppard, Braxton Koechel, Landen Hood, and Harper Helton.
