On October 2, 2026, Frances Marie Russell, 85, completed her earthly journey and entered into eternal rest. She was born September 1, 1941, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Isaac Christie Jackson and Hazel Marie Pearson Jackson.
Frances was a proud graduate of Fair Park High School. She continued her education at Commercial College, where she completed training in Business Machines in 1968. Later in life, she returned to school and attended Southern Technical College, completing her education as a Medical Assistant in 1992. Her willingness to continue learning throughout her life reflected her determination, independence, and strong work ethic.
Frances spent many years working and caring for others. During her career, she worked as a Patient Care Technician at Schumpert Medical Center and later as a pit clerk at the Horseshoe Casino.
Frances had a creative spirit and a love for the things that brought beauty and joy into her life. Music held a special place in her heart, and she loved playing the piano. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, and painting, often using her hands and imagination to create something special. Frances loved the outdoors as well, whether she was fishing, hunting, or hiking and taking in the beautiful scenery of Arkansas.
Above all, Frances leaves behind a family who will carry her memory with them. The years they shared, the stories they can tell, and the memories created together will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
Frances was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Christie Jackson; her mother, Hazel Marie Pearson Jackson; and her husband, Albert Russell.
Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Marion “Bubby” L. Jackson; her nieces, Penny Jackson and Jennifer Jackson, and their families; her children, William D. Stroud (Lisa), Kenneth A. Stroud (Andrea), Michael H. Daily (Paul), Debra Russell (Laurie Anders), Mary Walters (Donnie Walters), Amanda Guice (David), James Kelly Russell (Katherine), and Marcia Kessler (Clint).
She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Lacy Taylor (Jon), Stacy Henington (Cole), Natasha Jones (Daniel), and Cassandra Thompson (Ben); her great-grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor, Macy Henington, Samuel Henington, and Wyatt Kabay; as well as her other beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frances will be remembered for the life she lived, the things she loved, and the many memories she leaves behind. Though her presence will be deeply missed, those who loved her will continue to carry a piece of her with them.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, Louisiana.
A graveside service honoring Frances’s life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery, 17667 Atlanta Mira Road, Ida, Louisiana, with Chaplain Joe Gordon officiating. A special thank you to Cabot Health & Rehabilitation, Little Rock, AR and Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.
